Hi There, love the theme – is there any way to get an .swf file as the header?

Hi Sam!
What do you mean by header? Do you want to have the menu in .swf? or just ads above the menu?

Hi Alex,
Sorry I wasn’t so clear – still trying to get my head around wordpress!! I want the main image on my page to be an swf movie that I have created (just below the menu bar), instead of rotating static images. Does that make sense?
If you go to http://www.samskirrow.com/wordpress you’ll see the large image I’m trying to replace with the swf movie found on http://www.samskirrow.com.
Thanks for your quick response

Hey Sam, I got the idea. Nothing hard, open the file index.php from solaris folder and go to line 13. There you will see an php starting tag. This tag ends on line 47. Delete the code that’s between those two lines (13 and 47) and place the html embed code for .swf file you have. Make sure it has the width 920px. After that you’ll have to upload the modified file to server and the swf too and after that go to admin panel-> Solaris (left bottom corner) -> Homepage and there select nivoSlider for “Homepage slider”. That’s it. If you have any other questions please ask.

Thanks Alex, I have done what you suggested, and it has mostly worked – except I can’t actually view the swf (just a white box where it should be). Do you have any thoughts on why this might be?
Thanks for your time and help, much appreciated!

Hey Sam, it seams that the path to swfobject.js is wrong: “script.src = “http://www.samskirrow.com/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/image-rotator//js/swfobject.js”;” there’s a double “/” just before “js/swfobject.js” and I think there should be only one “/”.

I want to suggest you to add in css an id “#swf { z-index: -1; }” to get the .swf container below the menu. Now you can’t see the sub menus, they go under the .swf holder.

Thanks for your help Alex. I’ve spent quite a while trying to figure out how to change the incorrect path name – not found it yet, any suggestions?
Also, I have added in the css script as you suggest so should work better now.
Really appreciate your help on this.

Hey Sam! After more dig I discovered that there’s and 403 error. I don’t know too much about this error but I know it’s from server side. Can you ask the guys from whom you have hosting, they may know more about this. About the css code I gave you, I don’t see it in your code. Can you add it in options->general and there’s a filed “custom css” adn this: #swf { z-index: -1; }
Also, for Social Media buttons, you need to add http:// too to work properly.

Ok then, one more thing ;)
I’m struggling to figure out how I create a photo gallery/video gallery.
Thanks (again)

Hey Sam, as you could see in description you can have a multimedia gallery. Video and images inside one gallery. If you’ll read the documentation there it’s explained how to add images and videos to the gallery, nothing complicated, just follow my instruction from documentation.

Ok one more question (sorry).
I’ve read the documentation, but still can’t get the slider working on the homepage (for now I’ve gone back to your original index.php)
Sorry to keep asking questions!
